Life transitions are challenging and I applaud you for taking this brave step toward finding support and resolution to work through the issues that concern you most.

Therapy is one of the most vital investments you can make in yourself or in your relationship.

Many people are nervous about their first session and unsure of what to expect. This is true whether people have been to counseling before or this is their first time. It takes a lot of courage to make the initial appointment and we would like to help ease some of that anxiety. During the first session our main goal is to get to know you and learn about your concerns and what has brought you to counseling at this current time. We also want to learn what you are looking for from the therapeutic relationship and what you are hoping to accomplish during your time with us.

During the first session we spend most of the time hearing your story and then working together to form a plan for therapy. It is helpful to us if you bring with you any medical history that you would like to share and a list of medications you may be taking. This format can change based on your current needs. If you have any more questions about the first session or general questions, please contact us. I also recommend visiting our services page to see what we offer.

Typically, the initial appointment is 60 minutes, individual sessions are 45 minutes and couples sessions are 60 minutes. Please call for specific pricing. At this time, we are not accepting insurance. Acceptable forms of payment are cash, visa, discover, or master card.

Note: Many clients prefer not to use their health insurance for therapy for confidentiality reasons, since health insurance companies require a mental health diagnosis to provide coverage.
